Abel-Mizraim - Where Israel Mourned for Jacob

The term "Abel" can mean meadow, brook or mourning, and "Mizraim" is Hebrew for "Egypt". In Genesis 50:11, we see that the Canaanites named this place by what they saw, which was Israel mourning the loss of their founding father and patriarch, Jacob (Israel). By that time, the Tribes of Israel had been living well in Egypt and therefore, would have had the appearance of being Egyptians themselves. When taken in context, this is the location where the "Mourning of the Egyptians" took place for 70 days.

NOTE: There are two Hebrew words that can be transliterated to "Abel". Adam and Eve's son (Abel) uses the other variation which means "breath" or "vanity".
