Athaliah - Queen of Judah

Athaliah became Queen of Judah by very evil means, some by her own hand. She was the princess of the Kingdom of Israel, daughter of King Ahab, who took part in an arranged marriage to Jehoram, King of Judah. Being evil of heart, she convinced her husband to kill his 6 brothers plus other rivals. Then, once her husband and chosen successor to the throne died, she decided to kill all the others in order to take the throne for herself! However, one of her grandsons, Joash, was rescued and hidden away until he was able to stage a coup and overthrow the wicked queen.
